9/2/2023 0 Comments Bsnes accuracySo far I don't see any problems with the modern Snes9x core. I remember the youtuber SNES Drunk highly recommends ZSNES. However I do recall it doing weird stuff on the Snes Classic's Canoe emulator if a series of audio tracks conflict in one of the earlier levels, causing the music to die altogether. The Second Reality Project Reloaded works fine on every core here on Android. The 2005 core adds weird pixel jumping at the top of the screen as well as the inauthentic and trebly audio. ![]() I could have sworn Snes9x2005 on pc fixed that glitch. The SMW2+Complete hack, the very first level the message screen is black on every Snes9x core on Android. Two hacks that you need to experiment for yourself: The graphics look better but I haven't played either hack very extensively.īlock Invalid VRAM option seems to bring back some of the lesser desirable graphic glitches for these two games. This way you get the sound effects on the modern Snes9x that are more authentic than the tinny audio from Snes9x2005. These both need to be played in ZSNES, or Snes9x2005.Įven better is to use the most up to date Snes9x core, go to the core options, emulation hacks, and enable the Echo Ram Hack option as this is the only way to get these to play at all on this core. For Rom Hacks of a certain period where emulator inaccuracies were used, Snes9x2005 works great. On lower-powered devices, that's what I use. The quality difference is there, but even Snes9x is virtually identical to playing a real SNES. I wouldn't get too hung up on accuracy vs performance when it comes to these cores. ![]() Otherwise a 2.5ghz dual core CPU is enough to get a steady 60fps with the majority of games. It has very excellent video quality, especially the latest iteration. BSNES doesn't require that fast of a computer unless you are running the super slow 'Accuracy' profile which is really only needed for displaying the shadows under your plane in 'Air Strike Patrol'. It's lighter weight, so on my computer I can actually enable run-ahead. Given my laptop's power I use the Balanced and Performance versions when I dabble with BSNES.Įven with those available, I highly recommend Snes9x, which is what I use all the time. There's the experimental HD version as well. Each one has 3 tiers: Accuracy, Balanced, and Performance. There's 2 broad categories of Bsnes cores I've got on my laptop, the 2014 and the Mercury. Depending on your hardware you have a lot of good options.
